Image Description from historic lecture booklet: "On the southwestern side of the hill which has been named "the new Calvary" an ancient tomb was discovered by General Gordon in 1882 which he believes to have been the true burial place of Jesus. This cannot be stated as a certainty or even as a probability, but only as a possibility. You see the door of entrance to the cave, excavated out of the native rock; also a little window giving light to the tomb within. The further wall by the door is a recent construction built to preserve the original crumbling wall. While we cannot be sure that the body of Jesus was borne through that opening, and laid in the cave within, yet we know that in some cave like this, and not far away, the body of our Lord lay from the evening of his death to the morning of his rising; and this knowledge fives to this place a sacred interest. Let us enter that door and look at the tomb within."
